MEET THE THERAPIST
KIMBERLY HOLMES
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for empowering individuals and families to process traumatic experiences, experience healing, and discover their strengths in the midst of overwhelming challenges. Engaging in therapy requires a lot of courage, and I consider it an honor to walk alongside clients as they journey through the therapeutic process. Living life inspired by Children’s Books.
Imagine the whimsy of Dr. Seuss, the bravery of J.R.R. Tolkien's characters, or the adventure of exploring Narnia. By embracing the creativity, curiosity and wonder of childhood tales, we can infuse our everyday lives with a sense of adventure and possibility. Adulthood can make it hard sometimes, but I strive to dream big, believe in the extraordinary, and let the pages of children's books inspire me to see the world in a whole new light.
The Professional Side of Things
-
I had the privilege of attending Baylor University, where I graduated with a Bachelor's in Social Work and a Master's in Clinical Social Work. I completed my clinical internship working as a Counselor in Juvenile Detention and Probation. Additionally, I worked as a Research Assistant on a grant-funded project that explored congregations processes for navigating questions related to LGBTQ+ inclusion. I am grateful for the education I received, as it has equipped me with a wide range of knowledge and a diverse set of skills that serve me in both my personal and professional life.
